Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Go Mama helps moms find real friendship with other moms nearby. Your trust is the whole point — so here's the short version: we collect only what we need to run the service, we never sell or rent your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising. The details below explain exactly what we collect and why.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Go Mama ("Go Mama", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile and web application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information from Facebook & Instagram login

If you choose to sign in with or connect Facebook or Instagram, we receive a limited set of information from those platforms based on the permissions you grant — typically your name, profile photo, and email address. We use this only to create your account, verify that you're a real person, and personalize your experience. We do not post to your social accounts, and we do not access your friends list, posts, or contacts. You can revoke this connection at any time in your Facebook or Instagram settings, or by contacting us.

Information collected automatically

3. How we use your information

Our promise about your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers, and we do not use it to serve third-party advertising or to build advertising profiles. We do not sell your messages or use the personal content you share to train AI models. We use your data only to run Go Mama and keep it safe.

4. How information is shared

We share information only in these limited ways:

In groups and playdates

Groups and playdates share one privacy setting, and each of its three values means the same thing on both:

We hold personal details back from a signed-out visitor. Until she signs up, a visitor sees first names and initials rather than moms' faces, wherever a face would otherwise appear — the moms wall, the community feed, and the moms attached to a playdate. She is also not shown last names, an exact distance (only a rough band such as "nearby"), children's names, social handles, or when a mom was last online. A mom who has signed up sees the app as it is, whether or not she has finished verification.

Verification gates the things that reach another mom directly. A mom who has signed up but not yet verified can browse and read what is open to her, and she can join a public group and post, reply and react inside it. Until her profile is verified she cannot message another mom, join or host a playdate, or join a private or invite-only group. Only verified moms appear on the moms wall.

Whoever can see a playdate, the moms attached to it are protected: until a viewer has signed up, we do not show her the host's name, the faces of the moms going, or the exact number going when it is small enough to identify someone.

Your posts, replies, and reactions carry your first name and profile photo. You can edit or delete anything you have written — a post or a reply — at any time, and remove a reaction by tapping it again. Deleting your account deletes everything you have written along with the rest of your data.

Discussions attached to a specific place, event, or playdate are a separate space from groups: they are readable by any signed-in member so that a mom can see what people say about a venue before she goes. Only verified members — and moms whose verification is being reviewed — can post in them.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Go Mama does not save a Fifi voice recording in your account, chat, or database. The returned transcript is treated the same way as a question you type after you choose to send it.

6. Your rights & how to delete your data

You can access and update most of your information directly in the app's Profile screen. You may also request to access, correct, or permanently delete your personal data at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA (for example, to object to or restrict processing, or to data portability). We honor these rights — contact us to exercise them, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Automated content safety

To keep Go Mama safe for moms and their children, photos and text you share in the app — profile photos and bio, group and playdate details, place notes, comments, and messages — are checked automatically by an AI content-classifier (OpenAI's moderation service) at the moment you share them, before they are published to anyone else.

The screening is tuned for a community of mothers: breastfeeding, birth, postpartum and ordinary family beach or swimming photos are not violations.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and a least-privilege data model — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data and to limit who can access it.

8. Children's privacy

Go Mama is built for adults — parents and caregivers who are 18 or older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
