Community Guidelines

Last updated: August 29, 2026

Go Mama exists so moms can find real friendship — real playdates, and a community that feels safe from the first hello. Verification is how we keep it that way: it is what lets a mom message you, meet you, or join your private group, and only verified moms appear on the moms wall. Browsing and public groups are open more widely, so write in one as you would speak in a room with the door open. These guidelines apply to everyone here, verified or not. By using Go Mama you agree to follow them, along with our Terms of Service. Breaking them can mean removed content, a suspended account, or a permanent ban.

1. Respect each other

Kindness first

Every mom here is somebody's whole world. Talk to each other the way you'd want another mom to talk to you — at the playground, in a group chat, or in a first message.

Harassment

Do not engage in any form of harassment, including bullying, unwanted repeated contact, sexual harassment, or blackmail. If a mom doesn't reply or declines your chat invite, let it be.

Threats & violence

Never threaten to harm a person or group of people. Credible threats or incitement of violence are removed, and the accounts behind them banned.

Privacy

Respect other moms' privacy — and their kids' privacy. Do not share anyone's personal information (address, phone number, school, schedule, photos of their children) without consent, and never engage in doxxing.

Hate speech

Hate speech or hateful conduct of any kind is not tolerated, including promoting violence or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or family structure. Every kind of mom belongs here.

Violent extremism

Do not organize, promote, or support violent extremism or terrorist activities in any form.

Child safety

We have zero tolerance — zero — for sharing, soliciting, or creating sexually explicit content involving anyone under 18, or for any behavior that endangers children. Violations are reported to law enforcement.

Sexual content

Go Mama is for friendship, not dating. Do not send sexually explicit or suggestive content, and never share intimate content of another person without their consent.

Self-harm & suicide

Do not glorify, promote, or encourage self-harm, suicide, or other harmful behaviors. If a mom you're talking to seems to be struggling, encourage her to reach out for help — in the U.S., call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

2. Keep it real

One honest profile

Be yourself — one account, your real first name, a real photo. Do not impersonate another person or create accounts for anyone but you. Verification exists to keep everyone here real — a photo of you, and a selfie we match against it; don't try to get around it, and don't ask another mom to.

No spam or self-promotion

Go Mama is not a marketplace or an audience. Do not spam other moms, mass-send invites, or use chats and groups for advertising, recruiting, MLM/network-marketing pitches, or fundraising without permission. Your one chat invite to a new mom should be about her, not your business.

Security & fraud

Protect the security of the platform and the moms on it. Don't attempt to compromise accounts or data, promote scams, or perpetrate fraud.

Misinformation

Do not share demonstrably false information that creates a real risk of harm — including content that endangers public health or safety.

3. Meet up safely

Real playdates are the whole point of Go Mama — here's how we keep them safe:

4. Follow the law

5. Reporting & enforcement

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it — long-press a message or use the report option on any profile, group, or post, or email us at hello@gomama.app. Reports are confidential; the mom you report is never told who reported her.

Depending on severity, violations can result in removed content, a warning, a suspended account, or a permanent ban — and where children's safety or the law is involved, a report to law enforcement. We'd always rather keep one mom safe than keep one account active.

We also check automatically. Photos and text are screened by AI the moment they are shared, before anyone else sees them — anything explicit, violent or abusive is refused rather than published. It is a first pass, not the last word: a person reviews what it flags and holds for review, and if we get it wrong you can say so and we will look again. A refused photo is never stored — it is not saved anywhere, even by us, which is the strongest privacy promise we can make about it and also means that if you appeal, your own account of the photo is what we have to go on. It is tuned for this community, so breastfeeding, birth and family beach photos are not violations. If something of yours is removed, we tell you why and how to appeal.
